AFT Rutgers Locals

AFT Rutgers is the umbrella organization for all AFT affiliates at Rutgers University. Currently three locals comprise AFT Rutgers:
The Rutgers Council of AAUP Chapters-AFT consists of two locals:

  • The AAUP-AFT unit includes full time faculty, teaching/graduate assistants, postdocs and Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF) counselors; and
  • The Part Time Lecturer Faculty Council, which represents part time lecturers.

    The Union of Rutgers Administrators-American Federation of Teachers (URA-AFT), Local 1766 represents more than 2,000 staff positions at Rutgers with more than 350 individual job titles.

    We created AFT Rutgers to work together on:

    2.Political and Legislative Activity
    3.Health and Safety
    4.Member/Retiree Mobilization and Solidarity
    5.Other areas of mutual concern that may be identified
